About Us

Who We Are

Our Mission & What We Do

At Lonoke County Safe Haven, our mission is to offer hope, healing, and independence to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. We achieve this by offering a safe space for recovery from trauma, bridging the gap between survivors’ needs and available services, providing tools for survivors to make healthy relationship choices and live independently. LCSH offers education, prevention, and awareness in school districts and community events about domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking, its signs, and its effects on families and communities.

Our History & Impact

Lonoke County Safe Haven started in 2005, driven by a community that cared deeply about helping those affected by domestic abuse. By March 2007, we opened our first shelter with 12 beds in Cabot, Arkansas. In 2008, we grew to a 16-bed shelter designed to feel like home, complete with kitchens, playrooms, and welcoming living spaces for those staying with us. In 2019 we became a dual shelter and joined the Arkansas Coalition Against Sexual Assault and in 2023 joined the fight against human trafficking.

Part of our community mission includes outreach efforts through protection services and our thrift store, all aimed at offering hope, safety, and a hand to hold for individuals 18 years and older and families. We’ve come a long way with the support of our community and appreciate all the partnerships and commitments to our mission in the community.
